Ekland Font for Modern Branding and Cultural Appeal
I was recently tasked with updating the branding for a small bakery that wanted to feel more modern yet still rooted in its Asian heritage. The challenge? Finding a font that could bridge tradition and contemporary design without feeling forced. That’s when I discovered Ekland—an Asian-style display font with a modern geometric structure and a touch of cultural flair. Inspired by contemporary Asian aesthetics, Ekland is exceptionally versatile, shining in branding. It became the perfect choice for this project.
Ekland for Bakery Packaging and Brand Identity
Ekland immediately stood out for its clean lines and subtle cultural nods. When applied to the bakery’s new packaging, it gave the brand a fresh, polished look while still honoring its roots. The modern geometric structure of Ekland made the product names pop on the boxes, and the cultural flair added a unique visual identity that felt authentic. Using Ekland for the bakery’s logo and packaging helped create a consistent brand image across all customer-facing materials—from boxes to social media posts.
The font’s versatility shone through when we used it for both large headlines and smaller details like taglines and ingredient lists. Its readability on printed labels and digital displays made it ideal for everything from shop signage to online banners.
Ekland in Café Menus and Social Media Graphics
Next, we turned our attention to the café menu. A well-designed menu can make or break a customer’s first impression, so we needed something that was both stylish and easy to read. Ekland proved to be the perfect fit. Its modern geometric structure allowed us to create a sleek, minimalist layout that felt inviting and professional. We paired it with a clean sans serif font for the body text, which balanced the boldness of Ekland without overwhelming the reader.
We also used Ekland for Instagram templates and promotional graphics. The font’s cultural flair added an extra layer of personality to the café’s feed, making each post feel more connected to the brand’s story. Whether it was a special event announcement or a new pastry launch, Ekland helped maintain a cohesive visual tone across all platforms.
Ekland for Product Labels and Handmade Goods
For handmade goods, especially those with a cultural twist, typography plays a key role in how the product is perceived. I tested Ekland on a line of handcrafted candles and skincare products. The font’s modern geometric style gave the labels a refined, upscale feel, while the cultural elements subtly hinted at the inspiration behind the designs. This helped elevate the overall perception of quality and intentionality behind each product.
One thing to keep in mind is readability. While Ekland is great for headlines and short phrases, it works best when paired with a supporting font for longer text. For example, using a clean sans serif font for descriptions ensures that the information remains easy to digest without losing the visual impact of Ekland.
Ekland in Online Shop Banners and Digital Ads
When redesigning the online shop banner for the bakery, I chose Ekland for the main headline. The font’s strong presence helped draw attention to the sale or new product launch, while its modern aesthetic aligned with the brand’s updated look. It also performed well on mobile screens, where clarity and legibility are essential for capturing the viewer’s attention quickly.
In digital ads, Ekland’s bold character made it stand out against backgrounds and images, ensuring that the message was clear and impactful. Whether it was a promotional email or a Facebook ad, the font helped reinforce the brand’s voice and personality without being too flashy or too plain.
Ekland is an Asian-style display font with a modern geometric structure and a touch of cultural flair. Inspired by contemporary Asian aesthetics, Ekland is exceptionally versatile, shining in branding. From print to digital, it consistently delivered a professional, memorable look that resonated with customers and strengthened the brand’s identity.
